Christmas Shopping... UGH

First of all, times are tight. Not just for me, but for everyone. That being the case, I'm searching for the cheaper items this year. Ten dollar movies instead of $15 or $20; Nice tops instead of full fuzzy sweaters; Books and board games instead of video games or pc games. Also, as every year, we make gift baskets. It's cheaper to buy bulk and spread it among many instead of buying individual items. Trouble is, I don't know what kinds of gift baskets I want to give this year.

Shopping today, cheaply, I decided to go to K-mart. I rarely ever go there because I despise the "-mart" industry. But, I thought they would be cheaper, so I gave it a shot. HA! They had nothing worth buying this year. I didn't find ANYTHING that made me go "oooooh, so-and-so would LOVE that!" UGH. THEN, I found out that one of the movies I got someone was a PSP instead of DVD. That just put me in an irritable mood. I decided to do what I always do when I need cheered up... I called Justin. But, he wasn't having such a hot day either. :(

I picked Alex up at her meeting at school around 7:30ish. She wanted to go shopping at the MALL for her friends. No! Absolutely not! Money's tight and we can't afford to spend $20 on each one of her friends. No way! We went and picked up Justin, then hit PT's for some lattes, and headed to Barnes & Noble. Always a good place to go shopping. But wait!........ KLINGONS!!!!! Yes, my baby girl, who I love and adore, would NOT GO AWAY!!! It was fine that she was with us, but she was always less than six inches away from us. I am not exaggerating. I finally told her to go look around while I looked for a specific book. UGH... GASP.. CAN'T BREATHE!!! Please!!! take two giant steps back and get out of my personal zone!!

The evening ended fouly. I dropped Alex off at home, returned some movies to Hastings, exchanged my $8 PSP for a $20 DVD (UGH!!!) and took Justin home. I think tomorrow night I'll just stay home!! I can't handle another night like this.
