La la la LA La la la........... LOL!
When I was in school, I was in choir for as long as I can remember. I went to all the competitions, went on tour with our group called "Soundsations", and even went to the state competition and competed in the Solo Soprano category. I got all "I"'s which is the highest rating you can get. I used to be really something when it came to writing songs and singing for anyone who would listen. Ahh, those were the days.
Nowadays, I don't sing as well and I rarely ever even do karaoke. But, around the house and at work I do still sing. I like to make up little songs or sing things completely off-key just to make people laugh. It's a good time. I'll say "do you want me to sing you a song?" and half the people will say "NO!" while the other half will say "yeah!"
Yesterday, two different people told me that American Idol is coming to Kansas City on August 8th! I'm sooooo excited! I wish I wasn't too old for the competition. My daughter, however, is dying to audition. I can't wait!

Last night, Alex and I went to dinner and, once again, laughed our asses off! We completely crack each other up. Sometimes, I WISH we were on candid camera. It's so funny to see the way we are both on the same plane of insanity! LOL.
Afterwards, we hit Barnes & Noble to grab a few more books. Such bookworms we are! LOL. Then it was off to Hastings to get movies.
Definitely Maybe: What a chic-flic! Did it make me cry? No! It was a good little show, and had an interesting story, but it was definitly maybe written for girlie-girls who are totally into romance. I'll give it 2 stars.
Killing Floor: Eek! I love murder and mystery, including who-done-its. This movie is exactly that! I don't like to be scared, but this one had just enough scariness to keep it interesting. It's about a book writer's agent who has just bought a new loft in NYC and things start to get creepy. LOL. Good flick! I'll give this one 3½ stars.
And finally, I wanted to discuss the fact that Dean Koontz just put out TWO new books in the "Odd Thomas" series: "Odd Hours" and "In Odd We Trust". I've already read "Odd Hours" as I am a HUGE Koontz fan and pre-ordered the book. :) But when I heard about a second book coming out the following month, I thought "when does this guy sleep??" LOL.
While Alex and I were at B&N I looked for the "In Odd We Trust" book. It wasn't with the rest of the Koontz collection so I asked a salesperson about it. (This is where my intelligence will not be reflected well.... LOL) The guy told me that it was a "graphic novel". I said "I'll bet, he's a pretty graphic writer sometimes." The guy proceeded to tell me in various ways that it was with the graphic novels and not in the fiction area. I was so confused. (It's okay if you're laughing already.) Finally, after saying "graphic novel" about five different ways and times, the guy leads me to the book. I was thinking, "why is it back here with all the comic books?" LOL! And FLICK-- the light went on! And no, I didn't buy it. I should have, just to put with my collection, but I just .... something inside me would not let me buy a comic book.
The countdown: 2 more days til Alex's birthday! Yeah! I'm taking her to register to vote. That is what she is most excited about. I'm also thinking about taking her to the casino. Isn't the legal age for gambling 18? Well, that's what I have planned so far. She doesn't want a party, just to have fun.

It's 21. dont let a long drive to the casino only to sit in the cafeteria or restaurant ruin her birthday. although there are some nice restaurants at the prarie band. And i know you've been there at least once havent you?
Actually, KMB, I have been there once. Yet, I did not go there to gamble but just to have dinner. Thanks on the heads up with the gambling age. You saved me a trip North!
