Apparently, the Topeka Capitol Journal held a "Daily Dose song parody contest." The winner was a Topeka Nurse who did a parody about Fred Phelps and the Westboro Church and was to the toon of "Beverly Hillbillies". You should definitely read it and the others at: http://blogs.cjonline.com/index.php?entry=7118
This entry (below) was by a friend of mine. Although he didn't win, it's still a pretty good little diddy. LOL. Good work Jim!
"I Walk A Lot"
Jim Mathewson, Topeka
Tune of "I Walk The Line" by Johnny Cash.
I see my gas gauge on the bottom line,
I see that gas is at three-ninety-nine,
I see high prices and I lose my mind.
Because I'm broke, I walk a lot.
I find gas too expensive to be true.
I find myself walking when each day's through.
Yes, I'll admit I've got a hole in my shoe.
Because I'm broke, I walk a lot.
As sure as my wallet feels very light,
I'll stay home now and not go out at night.
Yes, gas prices have sure gone outta sight.
Because I'm broke, I walk a lot.
