It's Saturday afternoon and all is well and things are happening....
My Blog
I just want to take a moment to tell all of you who read my AOLJournal. I have been happily surprised by the number of you who have commented through email about my postings here.
Several people that I don't even know have sent me their comments about various items, from my writing (asking why I don't write on here more often) to comments about my mis-call about the new American Idol (which I got wrong... AGAIN). LOL. Thank You to everyone. Your input is always appreciated.
"The Man"
So, "the man" is back in the picture. Not exactly sure what will develop, if anything, but I like him, so I'm still giving him a chance. Although, I'm certainly not waiting by the phone. I'm living life waiting on someone to join me. Could it be him? We'll see.
Old Friends
Due to the loneliness I talked about in a previous blog, I set out in search of some old friends/acquaintances. I've found a few that I was looking for and found some I was not looking for. As I explained to one of the people from my past, I have made a lot of changes over the past 10-15 years (as I'm sure most people have), and I don't usually associate with "old friends" because I don't want those old stories being told to my daughter. I am not as permiscuous or naive as I used to be when I was MUCH younger. I would be terribly hurt and disappointed if she heard those stories.
Charles
Happy Birthday to Charles McVey! His birthday was Friday. Ariel, Kim and I all signed a card and I sent him a small token of our love for him. At Barnes & Noble I found a Music Notebook for him to write down his music in. It also had quotes from famous musicians. In the inside flap, I included this poem (which he loved):
The Piano Concerto
He sits at the piano playing some sweet melody.
Hisfingers are swift and graceful,
Dancing across the keys with passion
Releasing more emotion than we could ever speak
Pounding the ivory blocks and then caressing them
He serenades his own heart
Each note a tear unshed
In his mind he hears each word he hopes to express
Though his hands grow old and more wrinkled
They shall always hold the power to share
There will be no end to this concerto
For, every note, every chord, plays a part of his life
Speaking of Charles.....
Charley
He's been out of the picture for so long and some have forgotten about him, but not me and not Alex. Charley is doing well from my understanding. I'm happy for him. :)
Noises Off©
Alex and I are going to a Dinner Theatre tonight with my friend Kim and her husband. You can check it out here: Noises Off @ Topeka Civic Theatre & Academy. This will be my 3rd time at TCT. I love it! Although, as you've read in a previous blog, I did not enjoy Macbeth© all that much. We ladies plan to get all dolled up for the event. After all, it's notevery weekend that we get toget all dressed up to go out. This is a nice treat.
Weekend
This weekend is going to be jamb-packed with stuff. Tomorrow we have lawncare and housework (including rearranging), then sitting out tomorrow night and having a few drinks. Monday I hope to take Alex out to the lake for a while and rent a boat. If not, we will probably hit the tennis courts. Either way, we are getting out of the house to enjoy a day in the sun. (I HOPE there's sun!!)
To finish off my blog today, I leave you with a picture of my precious Sarah Lee. LOL.
