Me and My Man:
Things are still going good with this new person that I met. It's starting so much slower than I'm used to, but I'm adjusting. He's busy with his life, and I've been busy with mine. But, things are going pretty good. I am happy. More than happy, I'm excited.

I know my girlfriends are wanting the scoop, but I'm not ready to spill all the beans just yet. You KNOW that I have not had great luck in the past with this whole dating thing. I don't want to jinx anything. So, hold out for a while longer. If I have to wait to see what happens, so do you, my friend. LOL.

Alex:
On another note, Alex took her GED OPT test. This is the test that the state requires you to take in order to see if you are intelligent enough to even take the GED. How ironic! She passed. Her lowest score, though still a passing score, was in reading. Now THAT is ironic! I asked her how the heck a reader/writer could POSSIBLY get a low score in reading of all things. She explained that it had something to do with "interpretation" and how some questions were worded oddly, making multiple answers as possible correct answers. (????) Anyway, the main thing is that she passed. Yeah!

The final GED test will be in early May. I'm pulling for her. She could take it next week, but she wants to study first. She went in to the OPT test without studying. I think she realizes just how important it is to pass.

Although I still am not ecstatic about this situation as a whole, I am happy that she's taking this seriously and is expressing a desire to put some effort into studying. I wish she would have put that kind of desire into finishing high school. Ce la vie. I love her no matter what. I'm still the proud mama!
