I'm disappointed and a little mad. I had a decent day planned and it all went to shit. Here's what happened.
I was talking with my friend Laura today. I haven't seen her in close to 3 years. She and I talked and made plans for her and her kids to come over tonight. First, I had to go to the store to buy a garden hose and a squeegy so I could clean my basement floor. Alex had left some stuff on the floor down there and the cats pissed all over it and it smells super bad! I'm very self-conscious about the smell of my home, being a smoker. I'm too embarrassed to have company over if my home stinks (as anyone should be!).
So, I went out to my car and it wouldn't start. The battery was dead. Jump it? Sure! I tried and tried. It was not working. Finally, my mom and her husband came over. After close to an hour, combining power from two batteries, we get it started. I leave it running and go inside to call the battery surplus store. I asked them if they had a battery, which they did. I asked if they could put it in for me, and they said yes. I tell my mom my plan to get the battery and she and her husband leave.
Now, my day goes to shit. It's 1:30 pm.
I get to the battery store and turn the van off since they said they could put the new one in for me. I go inside and I tell the guy I'm here to get my battery replaced. He says "we don't do that here." WTF? I repeated the phone conversation to the guy and he tells me that it's against their insurance policy to do that, BUT "you could go across the street to the Goodyear store and they can fix it." Too late. I turned it off.
There were three guys looking at me like I'm a f***king idiot when I tell them that it won't jump and that it took the combined power of TWO batteries to jump it before. No no no! I have boobs, therefore I know NOTHING! Here's a tidbit, girls/women can know about cars just like boys/men can know about cooking and sewing. Surprise!!
3 guys + half an hour+5 different attempts to jump the van = no spark.
FINALLY, they do what I told them mom's husband had done, and they combined the power of two batteries, and it started. Again I ask, WTF?
So, now I'm pissy and stressed and UGH! I drive over to Goodyear to get it fixed. Good job there. BUT..... when I went to pay for it, my card was declined. I had put money in the bank yesterday and it has not been posted to my account yet. Dammit! So, I give the guy all my cash and ask him to run my card again for the balance. That worked. Now, I have to wait until Monday for my check to post. Dammit!
I got home, hot, tired, stressed, now only mildly pissy. From the mailbox I retrieved the next slap. Jury Duty?!?! Dammit! What else can happen today???
Once inside, I call my friend Laura to reschedule our get-together. My house still stinks cause I couldn't go to the store to buy the hose and squeegy that I needed due to the non-posted check I deposited and I'm flat out just not in a good mood anymore. Laura understood and agreed to another time.
THEN...... Then Ryan calls. He called to say "I don't have any time on my phone, can you get on the computer?" No. Alex was on the computer and I was watching a movie. Besides, he hasn't called me all week long. Plus, the last time I tried to call him, he wouldn't answer the phone. And the last time I talked to him online, he didn't want to get into details about why he couldn't spend last weekend with me while Alex was gone. Maybe it's just me, but it sounds like this man might already need to be cut loose. Am I overreacting due to my bad day? Perhaps, but I had this feeling prior to today's events. They guy just will NOT open up to me.
Anyway, I'm irritable. I guess I'll go clean the basement floors the hard way. Maybe it'll take off some of the aggressive edge. LOL.

Wow! And to think that I stubbed my toe on the bed so I thought I was going to have a bad day. Nothing I could ever do could match your bad day. But my pappy always used to say, "Cheer up, as bad as today is, tomorrow will most likely be worse."
