Happy Mother's Day

Yesterday, I got up around 9:30 after a very stressful week. Around 11am, I went back to bed and slept til almost 4:30!! WTF?? I don't know. Maybe it was the stress.

Today was fruitful. I got up, took a shower, got dressed. Then took out the trash, loaded the dishwasher, filled out some financial paperwork, called mom (Happy Mother's Day Mom!). Then, I made coffee and cinnamon biscuits (not as good as anticipated). After all that, I loaded up the van with crap from my garage and took it to the dumpster that Mac rented. Then, I loaded the van again and dumped it.

When there was space in the garage, I put the battery back in the Jeep (which fired right up), put a little air in the tire, and drove to the gas station to finish airing the tires and get a couple gallons of gas. Plenty of room in the garage now, so that's where I parked her.

Since I was in the garage, I changed the bulbs in there that needed replacing, and fixed the lawnmower. I replaced the pull cord and lubed up the thingy-bobber that needed lubing. LOL. It's been so long since I've worked on small engines that I can't remember the names of all the parts. :) Now, I just have to put some gas in it and fire it up! My lawn is like a JUNGLE!!! Be careful if you come to visit, you might get lost in the blades!! LOL.

After the long day, I got a little dolled and took Alex out for dinner. Nothing fancy. I let Alex drive home. (Yes, it was her idea!) She said she needed to work on "that driving thing", so I told her she could take the backroads home. We drove around the parking lot (at about 5 mph) for a good 15 minutes, then we drove around some back streets for a while, and then we came home via backroads. She did alright. I'll take her again tomorrow.

So, that was my Mother's Day. No gifts, no cakes, no cards. Just a lot of work. But, the important thing is that I feel good with the work I've done today, right?

Oh, my bonus today was getting an email from Charles. Man, that guy really is something. Perfect timing. I needed a little something. :)
