What a way to start the year!

Yesterday I received a lovely monitary gift from an undisclosed source. So, we girls did what girls will do ... we shopped!

I gave Alex $150 and I took the same amount and we set out for a day of shopping. Alex, the money-saver, was instructed to "spend it all" as we set out. Since taxes are coming back, I wanted us both to get the smaller, impulse buys, and what-nots out of the way. We hit about 7 different stores. Our purchases ranged from clothing and decor to movies and music. Of course there was lunch and some health-care products thrown in too for good measure.

After we had spent about five hours out and about all over town, we headed for home to get all dolled up. We went out to the theatre together, which is a rare occasion for us since we can never agree on a movie. The place was packed as we entered the seating area for "Juno". Alex asked me why there were so many young people there, to which I responded "maybe because they don't teach sex ed in schools anymore." LOL.

The movie was really good. I loved the main character "Juno" as she went through all the steps to carry and have a baby after finding a couple wanting to adopt. Good show.

I spent all day with my baby girl just being happy, having fun, enjoying each other's company, and getting what we wanted. What a great way to start off 2008!
