Wednesday:
My friend, Debbie, had a birthday on Wednesday. I spent the night before making chocolate cream puffs. YUM! I got up early the next morning and filled them with vanilla pudding/whipped cream mix, and drizzled them with Hershey's chocolate. Double YUM!
Saturday:
Catered my mom's Holiday Party for her helpers at the Washburn University planitarium & observatory. Nothing big. I made barbequed meatballs, vegie plate, melon balls (watermelon & canteloupe), chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter balls, and I made a few homemade cinnamon lollipops. I was going to make cream puffs, but........ didn't.
THEN... on my way home, I stopped by Lazio's to grab a coffee. Guess who was playing there? Charles McVey!! We LOVE Charles McVey!! I ran home real quick, told Alex to get dressed to see McVey, and off we went back to the coffeehouse. Love it, love it, LOVE IT! We got a CD, a pin (that Alex will wear proudly), and some McVey info. Charles, we love you man!
Sunday:
Today I got up and around late. When Alex woke up, she came out of her room, went to the kitchen and came out with her sad face on. "What's wrong?" She says "I could have sworn I smelled bacon cooking." So, we got dressed and headed to the store for bacon, eggs and milk. YUM!
After that, I got dressed and headed out to do some Christmas shopping since it was such a beautifully snowy but sunny day. I got Alex some stuff and a few other things. I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I love that baby girl of mine! <3
Tonight: Making Candy
When I got home, I sent Alex to her room and wrapped, wrapped, wrapped! Our tree is finally full! Then, I made dinner and started my candy making. You read that right! I'm not baking for Christmas this year. I'm making candy. When it's something homemade, it tastes so much sweeter!
Here is my list of things I've made tonight:
Peanut Butter Balls
White chocolate lollipops
Candied Nuts
Chocolate covered pretzels (white chocolate)
Spiced Nuts
Things to make tomorrow night:
Divinity Balls (with a cherry on top)
Hard candies (cinnamon, champagne, bubblegum)
Lollipops - various flavors of mint
Broken chocolate with peppermint bits (my fave!)
Cream puffs (vanilla & chocolate)
So, as you can see, I havea LOT done, but still have a LOT to do. But, it's worth the work. :)
