Hazel Little, born in July of 1913, passed away this evening at 5:40pm. She is survived by her children Carl and Patricia, her 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She had just turned 94 this year.
I had not seen Hazel for more than 13 years. This past weekend and Monday evening, Alex, one of the many great-grandchildren, and her father spent hours on end at the hospital. They knew that the time was coming when Hazel would pass away. She had been ill and then there were complications. Alex is very upset.
Although my time with Hazel was spent several years ago, they were important years. After Alex was born, and her father and I had separated, Hazel stepped in to help. Her help was greatly appreciated. She cared for Alex while I worked, fed her, clothed her, played games with her, and took her out for entertainment. She was a godsend to us when we were first starting out on our own. I struggled, still, being a single parent, but Hazel was there continuously to lend her support.
Loved by all, Hazel will truly be missed.
