When I was 12, I went to a Vo-Tech PEP program. You signed up for 3 two-week classes to take over the summer and it was worth half of a credit on your transcript. Went for 2 summers. I took small engines, warehousing, diesel mechanics, electronics, buisness occupations, and something else that I don't remember. Anyway, I met two of my oldest friends there, Chris and Dewayne. We all went to different high schools, but remained in contact throughout the years.
Friday, Dewayne and I went for dinner. It was the first time we'd seen each other in well over a year. Some people never change. LOL. So, we went for dinner and coffee afterwards. It was good catching up with my old friend.
Saturday was the JROTC Ball. Alex took her friend, Mei, who is a foreign exchange student from Japan. Mei thinks I'm "super-cool". LOL. Of course she does! Because I am!! LOL. The girls got dressed up in their formal gowns for the big event. They looked beautiful. As soon as the pics are developed, I'll post one on here for you to see. <Tear> My baby is growing up so fast.
Well, since the kids were gone to the big event, that left my evening open til 2am!! Woohoo! So, Mac came in town and took me out for a nice steak dinner. It's been so long since I've had a good steak. Mmm, I love it! Mac's good company for conversing with. He didn't try any funny stuff or anything, so that was good. We went for coffee after (of course) and then scoped out some shelving at Target. We couldn't find what I wanted though. :( Then, he gave me a hug and went home.
Today, (Sunday after the Ball) we got a call FIRST THING in the morning! UGH! Mei's "mom" called to say that she had to get home and ready for church. It was 7:30... oh, but wait. Did we forget about the time change? YES! So, it was actually 8:30! UGH! We were all rushing around in our PJ's, jumped in the car and sped away to Mei's.
I think I'm going to do some organizing today. I need to do that.
