Running to Nabenathe

This is where I live
On the open road
Always moving away
   from something
   from someone
My sun shines bright
From blazing streetlights
Lighting my way
   away from here
   away from you
Don't ask me where I'm headed
I never know til I get there
Til I'm leaving it again
   towards tomorrow
   away from yesterday

I'd ask forgiveness for things
But they are behind me now
Hindsight is, they say, 20/20
   headlight only point ahead
   the rearview mirror's broken
Yes, I've stopped to ask directions
There's been times I've parked to rest
The road keeps calling me out
   to something else
   to somewhere else
This is where I live
On the open road of life
Until, one day, I fall off the edge
