Payday!!

There are pros and cons to payday. The pros: bank account in the positive, bills get paid, maybe a dinner with your special little baby girl that you love and adore. The cons: the bills, school necessities (like the upcoming trip to Cleveland, Ohio), and the speed with which your paycheck leaves your wallet. UGH!

Here is my thinking yesterday and today. I'm a little upset. As you all know, I am a single parent. It's fine. We do fine. Alex has a wonderful relationship with her dad, but I am not happy with him at the moment. I don't know if I'm more worried or disappointed. Keep in mind, Alex's dad is a great guy. Yesterday, I came home to find a message from him asking if we could switch weekends because "something" came up. Not good enough. I called, not to be nosey, but to see what this excuse was that would keep him from his darling baby girl. Apparently, there is a money issue. Okay. I understand that. But, being a single parent, no one knows money issues better than I do. It's not a good excuse. You work with what you have. Time does not always equal money. Besides, you can't buy love.
After talking with him, we agreed that he would still spend his weekend with his baby, and I would just send some dinner, snacks, and a few bucks for them to rent movies. Nothing's better than hanging out with one of your parents, watching movies, and munching on some junk food. It's fun and something they both enjoy.
My disappointment comes from the fact that I don't understand how 2 adults with 3 jobs can have money problems. It's not like he's paying anything for child support (and I NEVER push the issue). I told him "try getting paid ONCE a month with very little extra income". I'm not in the situation, and don't have all the facts. I'm disappointed with the facts that I know.

Money is tight for everyone. Even us. Especially with the whole hurricane-gas price ordeal. I'm working another party on Saturday. Good thing too. UGH!! I need a roommate OR a fat raise!!
